Google Takes Part Of HTC's Smartphone Team

Google and HTC today announced that Google will take over the HTC portion at a value of $ 1.1 billion. Takeover focuses more on part of the team behind the smartphone side of HTC.

With this acquisition, it will continue to strengthen Google's position in the smartphone arena through their Pixel brand. Google says that these teams and portions are ready to work with the Pixel team at Google - and this acquisition will benefit Google.

Along with this takeover, it also includes a number of patents from HTC licensed to Google.
Previously Google was ready to take over Motorola to strengthen the patent portfolio and gain expertise from them in developing smartphones. However, when the acquisition took place, Google did not issue any mobile devices such as Pixel, making Google sell Motorola to Lenovo. Now, with the Pixel team, this acquisition will enable Google to easily produce smartphones internally without having to rely on finding a third producer for its development and production.

HTC with Google itself is ready to work together for a long time. Previously HTC produced the first Android smartphone, HTC Dream, and introduced the Nexus One in 2010. The Pixel smartphone last year was also developed with HTC and Google.

For HTC itself, they will continue to produce mobile devices and Vive-virtual reality devices as usual.
