Istana Kenangan is a temporary residence by Sultan Iskandar Shah. Historically, the castle was built without any use of nails but using sticks and banana seeds. Istana Kenangan is also known as the Yellow Palace because of the paint color on the walls of the palace.

In addition, the castle is also painted in black and white to symbolize of Perak. Now, Istana Kenangan is better known as the Kuala Kangsar Royal Museum. The castle has been used as a Historical Heritage Site.

Istana Iskandariah is the official residence of the Sultan of Perak. The castle is located on the banks of the Silver River and is surrounded by beautiful buildings. The palace also has a distinctive architectural style as it has a blend of Islamic-Indian 'Saracenic' and Western Asia. In addition, the castle is built facing the rising sun and its views over the clear river of Perak.How nice it is that we can also enjoy such a scene. It is known that the Palace of Alexandria has several special rooms with different functions such as State Banquet Room, Dining Room and Tapping Room. Istana Alexandria also has the Music Hall and the Senate.On the first floor of this castle, rooms include lounge and game rooms. On the second floor, there are special palaces of the palace such as the Noble Hall, Hall and Throne which play its role on important days such as the day of the wedding and others. The floor also includes a Sultan's dressing room and lounge. 7. Sultan Azlan Shah Gallery

The gallery is not far from Ubudiah Mosque as it is just across the street from the mosque. The gallery was built with the aim of giving the public a deeper knowledge of the life of a Sultan. Before being used as a gallery, it was the residence of Sultan Idrus Murshidul Adzam Shah I who ruled around 1887-1916.

The Sultan Azlan Shah Gallery stores items owned by Sultan Azlan Shah. The design of the gallery is also interesting because it has Acheh's influence with the use of pyramid-shaped roofs while India's influence can be seen with the construction of the dome in both building towers. Therefore, this gallery is ideal for inspiration to the architects to produce such beautiful buildings.
