The world with flying vehicles is getting closer to reality. Last week a taxi flying VoloCopter successfully completed a test in Dubai. Airbus also has a dream of being a big-flight taxi with their CityAirbus project. They have already announced the engine and fan test for CityAirbus to successfully do it.
Siemens's 100KW output electric motor has been tested along with a fan with two blades. With
this success, CityAirbus is on schedule to make its first flight in
2018. If this test is successful, this electric taxi will start
operations in 2023. In contrast to Volocopter, CityAirbus is capable of
carrying four passengers simultaneously.
