The 10TB hard
drive was introduced by various digital storage companies not long ago,
with companies like Western Digital and Seagate coming with their own
high-capacity hard drives.
Now, HGST, a company under Western Digital has just announced that they have successfully created a hard drive with 14TB storage called Ultrastar Hs14.
The Ultrastar Hs14 hard disk is seen using HelioSeal technology as well as SMR (Shingled Magnetic Recording) to increase the amount of storage that can be inserted into the hard disk.

According to
HGST, this Hs14 hard disk comes with faster reading and writing speeds
faster than other hard drives, and this allows Hs14 devices to be used
to record Big Data data and tasks that require large and fast storage.
Apart from that, HGST also said that the Hs14 hard drive uses a considerable amount of energy, and this is best suited for companies who want to reduce their data center's energy bills. In terms of durability, Hs14 has MTBF (Mean-time Before Failure) for 2.5 million hours before it is damaged.
The Ultrastar Hs14 hard disk is now being sent to OEM companies for testing. Once it is sold, this hard disk will come with a warranty for 5 years.
