Nikon Factory In China Is Closed Due To Smart Phones

The use of analog cameras is diminishing due to the popularity of digital cameras. Over the past ten years, cameras on smartphones have threatened the existence of regular digital cameras. Nikon has just shut down their digital camera factory in Jiangsu China because of sales being hit by smartphones.

The market for compact cameras is becoming increasingly threatened as smartphones are a more popular alternative among consumers. Nikon's sales of cameras are now more focused on DSLRs that still receive great response because the picture quality has not been matched by smartphones.
