Using Your Camera On The iOS App & Record You Without Permission

For those of you using iPhone or iPad, you may be aware of privacy features that require you to grant permission to an app before using some features such as GPS, cameras and so on.

Now, one of Google's engineers has found that the permissions granted to an application can be misused. For example, if you give access to an application to access the camera - it also indirectly enables the application to activate the camera without your knowledge and record using the front and back cameras.

From the demonstrated demo, the user gives access to a social site app to access the camera. Subsequently, the application is also capable of recording various user's front-of-picture images - as well as performing live broadcasts without the user's own

In addition, using the camera also, an application can create face recognition and identify the reaction and so on.

However, since Apple often monitors and tests each application before it is published, allowing the rate of security threats caused by this item is a bit low.

Previously, some reports have come to say Uber can also monitor the user's location despite having completed a drive using Uber.

According to the engineer, to avoid accessing the camera without knowledge, several methods may be used - including giving temporary permission, or displaying the camera icon on the status bar when it is accessed.
