Updates should make the device more secure by pasting vulnerabilities and fixing bug problems. Just a couple of days ago iOS 11.2 update was given to troubleshoot live and dead device randomly on 2 December. Apple's speed of updating to this critical issue should be praised but it appears to be a new problem.
A few iPhone X owners reported Face ID face detection systems no longer work after updating to iOS 11.2. Among the solutions is to turn on and off the device after the update. Yet there are still a small number of owners who report problems still exist after this step is taken.
