Nate Nanzer, the Commissioner of the Overwatch League today announced that starting 2018, Blizzard will provide the latest update for the Overwatch game where players are able to buy costumes or jerseys for Overwatch League teams through the new League Token system.
In conjunction with the upcoming E-Sports Overwatch League event this January, all 12 teams participating in the event have special costume designs in the colors of the team as sports jerseys like other sports.
Through it, players are able to buy the jersey by purchasing the League Token for all Overwatch characters. At the same time, every purchase will also help financially follow the team's jersey purchased by the player. The League's Token system also allows the player to purchase the jersey specifically without any random system from the lootbox.
Nate Nanzer also stated that the system will be launched early next year, wherein after the player logged in for the first time, the player will be given enough League Token value to buy one shirt. However, he did not mention any other steps to obtain the League Token other than to buy it with the right money.
Overwatch is a game launched in 2016 by Blizzard on Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC. It is the first shooter game that focuses on multi-player games.
