Over 17 Billion Video Calls Made Using Facebook Messenger Throughout 2017

Facebook today has released their annual stats for Facebook Messenger messaging service - showing that it continues to be widely used by all users around the world. Overall, around 1.3 billion users use Facebook Messenger every month to stay in touch with friends and family members.

According to Facebook, one of the high increase numbers appears on video call support. Over 17 billion real-time video calls have been made in Messenger during this 2017 - showing double the increase over the last 2016.

Additionally, users have also shared over 500 billion emoji through it, nearly 1.7 billion daily emoji. In addition to emoji, GIF is also a popular choice, of which about 18 billion GIFs are shared throughout 2017 via Facebook Messenger.

On average, around 7 billion conversations and conversations happen via Messenger every day. By 2018 by the end, Facebook is targeting more new features to be introduced, including community support through it.
