T-FREND - Dron Reminding Workers In Japan To Go Home

The Japanese have a very different work ethic than in other countries. Workers come to the office earlier than employers and come home late. This is to show their sincerity to the company. But it is now regarded as a bad habit with the rising karoshi case - the individual who died because non-stop work.

T-FREND is a drone developed by Taisei to play the song "Auld Lang Syne" which is usually played in Japan for the closing time. The combination of noisy drones and drones is expected to force workers to stop working and return home.

This is not the only initiative in Japan trying to solve karoshi problems. Last June, Telework Day was launched to encourage home-based work which is also expected to reduce congestion in the public service ahead of the 2020 Olympic Games.
