Alcatel has long been using the Idol brand in the sales of their smartphones. In conjunction with the new 2018 year, TCL has announced brand new Alcatel brand branding at CES 2018.
Under this re-branding, the Idol series will be discontinued. Alcatel devices will now be sold under the new names of the series 5, 3 and 1. Series 5 is the best specs followed by 3 and 1. In the 5 series series of 18: 9, good camera capability, face scan and large battery size.
Series 3 is a mid-range device that also uses an 18: 9 screen, dual camera, attractive design but at affordable prices. Lastly, the series 1 is an early start device but will still offer an 18: 9 screen and a facial scan function. The three devices shown today are a small part that will be launched this year. More new devices will be announced at MWC next month.
