Microsoft: Edge Saves Battery And Efficiency Compared to Google Chrome

Competition in the web browser arena between Microsoft and Google is not something new. Previously, we have seen both giant companies say each offers a faster and safer web browser to users.

Now, starting in the new year 2018, Microsoft comes with new ads targeting Chrome users, saying Edge is more efficient and faster than Chrome.

Microsoft is seen making this new test on the latest Windows 10 operating system running Microsoft Edge 16, Chrome 62, Firefox 57 and Opera 59.

The tests performed by Microsoft, the laptop running Edge found to offer more than 16 hours of battery life, compared to Chrome only about 13 hours. Firefox records less than 9 hours.

In addition, Microsoft also said which Edge is safer and prevents over 18% phishing-shaped pages from Chrome. Edge is also said to be 48% faster than Chrome.

In the web browser arena, Google Chrome can be said to be still a great choice for users compared to Edge. Through this advertising, Microsoft is looking to attract users to try Edge web browsers - not to mention they are currently offered on Android and iOS mobile devices.

With this test done by Microsoft as well, we may see follow-up tests from others for the same purpose.
