IBM Produces Summit - The Fastest Super Computer In The World

Super computer is used for biological study purposes, weather forecasts, simulations, gas exploration and petroleum, cryptography and aerospace. Having super computer was once a symbol of progress in a country. The history of the computer began with the Atlas produced at the University of Manchester on December 7, 1962. It was later synonymous with the name Cray Supercomputers produced in the United States.

The world's fastest computer is now owned by Summit owned by the US Department of Energy's Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). It was built by IBM's computing giant. Summit has a calculated speed at 200 FFMPS map. This is 60% faster than China's TaihuLight which holds the fastest computerized title ever with the speed of counting at 93 map FLOPS.
Summit is equipped with 9125 processor 22 core BM Power 9, 27648 Nvidia Tesla V100 GPU, memory of 10 petabytes of RAM and storage of 250 petabytes. A total of 4608 servers were used to take up space for two tennis courts. To cool the Summit more than 15,000 Liter water is needed every minute. This computer will be used for cancer studies, machine learning, artificial intelligence and neural networks.
So how does the Summit compare to a typical desktop computer? It's about 1 Million times faster than a regular laptop. Summit capability calculates in a moment requires a human being to make an estimate at any time of 6.3 billion years.
But IBM is not yet satisfied with the Summit. They have now begun the development of computerized calculations at a rate of 1 exaFLOPS - 1 billion bills per second which is five times faster than Summit by 2021.
