At the Consumer Electronics Show event earlier this year, the IEEE consortium demonstrated the capabilities of the latest WiFi standard, 802.11ax, where routers using the technology were able to deliver 11Gbps data over WiFi connections.

Most recently, it seems that ASUS looks to be amongst the first WiFi network device makers who will use these latest standards via their latest WiFi router, ASUS ROG Rapture RT-AX11000. It is equipped with support for OFDMA which allows multiple users to connect to 2.4GHz and 5GHz connection frequencies, while enhancing data transmission by 4x compared to previous 802.11ac standards, up to 11Gbps.
This router also comes with GameBoost features that allow you to ensure that computers connected in the same network get the data packet priority when playing online games, or download computer games.
For those who prefer to use cable connections, ROG Rapture router is also present with a Gaming Port plug that uses the 2.5G Tbase plug that promises fast data transmission and gives priority to the devices it is connected to.
This ROG Rapture router also comes with a Boost Key button, which can activate GameBoost or DFS (Dynamic Frequency Selection) feature to automatically connect your device to a less frequently used frequency.
According to ASUS, ASUS ROG Rapture RT-AX11000 routers will be available to world markets in the third or fourth quarter of 2018. Currently, the price tag for this router has not yet been announced.
